Jacksons Hill

Jacksons Hill Sunbury

The aim of this project is to revegetate earthworks on a steep slope to minimise erosion and create habitat in the Holden Flora and Fauna Reserve at Jacksons Hill Sunbury. It includes the direct seeding of indigenous native grass and the planting of local trees, shrubs and ground covers.

In winter 2007 the site has been sprayed a few times and is ready to sow.

We got some good establishment of native grass in some areas by spring 2007.

The sown areas that failed in 2007 have been re-sown and we are expecting good establishment in 2008.

By winter 2008  the planting is finished.

UPDATE OCTOBER 08

Although it has been a very dry winter the Wallaby Grass is doing well. In the next few weeks it will start flowering.

The first sowing is looking very impressive close up.
