The Growling Frog project has been designed by staff at Whittlesea City Council. One quarter of a hectare has been scraped to remove weeds and excess nutrients, and then direct seeded with local native grass and wildflower seed. The area has been fenced to exclude rabbits and the large Kangaroo population. |
The Valley View Crescent Batter in Sunbury was sown with Danthonia under jute mat in april 2006. After vandals burned the jute mat soon after sowing, the site has been left without maintenance. |
At Mandalay Golf Course we have already sown the roughs for holes one and nine with Wallaby grass. Future holes will include other native grass species, and possibly some wildflowers |
This pipeline left a scar through good quality vegetation on Quarry Hills Reserve in the City of Whittlesea. Flora Victoria installed erosion control and sowed the site with local Danthonia, Stipa and Themeda. |
This job is on two sites along Jones Creek, and both sites abut Victoria University Grassland remnants. Before seeding, the sites were covered in Chillean Needle Grass, Cane Needle Grass, Serrated tussock, Couch, Kikuyu and many other weeds. Site preparation started in late 2009, it was sown in March 2010 and will be handed over to Brimbank City Council in Febuary 2011. |
