Growling Frog Golf Course

The Growling Frog project has been designed by staff at Whittlesea City Council. One quarter of a hectare has been scraped to remove weeds and excess nutrients, and then direct seeded with local native grass and wildflower seed. The area has been fenced to exclude rabbits and the large Kangaroo population.

Quarry Hills Pipeline

This pipeline left a scar through good quality vegetation on Quarry Hills Reserve in the City of Whittlesea. Flora Victoria installed erosion control and sowed the site with local Danthonia, Stipa and Themeda.

Jones Creek Cairnlea

This job is on two sites along Jones Creek, and both sites abut Victoria University Grassland remnants. Before seeding, the sites were covered in Chillean Needle Grass, Cane Needle Grass, Serrated tussock, Couch, Kikuyu and many other weeds. Site preparation started in late 2009, it was sown in March 2010 and will be handed over to Brimbank City Council in Febuary 2011.
